Damages to soccer dome in Whitby ‘nowhere near’ $1-million estimate

WHITBY -- The cost of damages at the soccer dome facility following a recent break-in is expected to be much less than the $1-million amount initially reported. Whitby Iroquois Soccer Club president John Theriault said he wasn’t sure exactly how much the actual damages were when asked by police so instead gave the value of the dome canvas itself. The damage has been repaired and the club is now in the process of submitting a claim to its insurance company. He estimated the actual cost will be closer to $20,000. January 6, 2016
